FontD - Swedish National Graduate School in Science, MATHEMATICS and Technology Education Research

The Swedish National Graduate School in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Research (FontD) is a collaborative network between 13 participating universities in Sweden, with Linköping University as the host. At present (August 2012), FontD is composed of 59 active students. Since inception in 2002, 37 PhDs and 12 licentiates have graduated from the school.

FontD has a fully-developed doctoral and licentiate research studies program that comprises of on-site courses, research supervision resources, and collegiate seminars.

A scientific committee composed of six internationally recognized researchers in science, mathematics and technology education is attached to FontD and delivers quality assurance advice and support.

Aims of FontD include:

• Educating PhDs and licentiates in science, technology and mathematics education research
• Developing research-informed knowledge about teaching and learning in science, technology and mathematics
• Supporting and maintaining networking between the participating universities
